I can't get anything really expensive, I'm in school now and not working so it has to be relatively cheap...my hair is obnoxiously wavy and really thick and hard to keep straight...any advice?

You have to spend some money unfortunately. Buy a good professional ceramic iron. Cheap ones damage the hair. and an anti freezing product. You 'll get a very good result which last longer than others.

This Shauna T, take your hair put it under hot water,then take a comb and then take out all the kinks. then when it is flat take it and press grease through it then take a hot curler.close the curler at the very top of your hair then squeeze the curler through your hair and you might get some grease out take the grease and put it back in the container.
the grease do to the heat will evaporate in minuets.my hair is the same as yours but when i did this my hair got flat.your welcome!
