How do you do this? My mom says you can take cod liver oil pills, so does anyone know is true? Also how is it possible to thicken hair because when your hair gets thinner like mine did (I am 17 and when I was 15 my hair was really thick) you loose each of the hairs individually right from the root so in order to grow your hair back thicker your head would have to grow out new hairs which could take years and years? Isn't it like growing short hair long?

OK here's what you have to do:

1) use olive oil

Here's what you shouldn't do:

1) Don't use baby oil if you do. It gives you pimples on your forhead (You should see my cousin if you don't believe me).

2) Don't take a shower every day because it's not good to wash it too much. It gives you dry hair and your hair falls out.

3) Stay away from hot tools (like straighteners). It damages your hair and it can fall out. You can use them, but not too much.

4) Don't use brushes, use combs, their healthier for your hair.

omg! i have the same exact problem!! Exact hair condition! whut i reccomend , this works so INCREDIBLY well, is thatu cut it above your hair sort of shoulder length..if its already like that then keep it!! Layers minimise poofiness, DO NOT GET BANGS! u will regret it, i know i did. they get all curlery and weird. But anyways, u cut your hair that short. and then, this is an important detail u must follow.. u go to a beauty supplies store and get curl defining gel. follow the instructuons on the bottle and apply everytime after shower. It doesnt ruin your hair at ALL, u have amazingly beautiful curls, and ur hair doesnt turn into an afro, even when it gets in contact with moisture!!

I have this same problem. I finally starting using large sized velcro rollers, you can find them at beauty supplies or sometimes even the grocery store. Sure, rollers are safe. The Velcro rollers are great, because when you roll the hair up %26amp; don't need to secure them with anything. You should try to have the rollers touching each other, so exactly how much you need is something I can't answer. I'd buy at least a dozen %26amp; a half or however they come in a package. Remember, the smaller the roller, the more curl you'll have, so if you don't want curl in certain places, try a little bigger roller. Make sure your hair is wet when you roll your hair so it will roll better for you. When you take all the rollers out, brush through the hair twice, then style. The brushing helps set the style.

As for one of my best secrets.......To achieve those spiral egg shaped curls like Nicole Kidman.........Pick up Pedicure toe seperators, make sure hair is damp....and with practice you will basically cover each curl with netting a bit longer than the (picture a foil that is longer than the hair, only about 1/2 inch which allows you to wrap the ends smoothy and clip, for the most effect, you will roll them straight out......not downwards.....This technique takes awhile to master but if you have a friend roll it, its easier.....

my hair is past my lower back and i had the same problem... i hated trying to untangle my hair in the morning.... now, i just comb my hair with a wide-tooth-comb or my fingers after i take a shower and braid it loosely when it is just about almost dry... sometimes i loosely braid my hair in ponytails before taking a shower and shampoo and condition my hair with the braids on-i just have to be sure to rinse my hair thoroughly and wrap my hair up in a towel. when it is almost dry, i undo the braids recomb (so much easier)- then rebraid before bed... if you try it- i hope it works for you....

it is not a one product thing. the best thing is to use a shampoo and conditioner made for curly hair. then use a curl defining product to control it and an anti humectin for the frizz. kms makes a great curl control lotion. you may also want to try a pommade...aveda makes an anti humectin that works well. speak to the professional salon and ask them for their advise. many of them, like aveda will have tester sizes or will even take back the product if it does not work for you. why waste money on the drug store stuff that does not work? if the pantene leave in conditioner works, try adding the pommade or antihumectin. your hair is too coarse for the silicone serums.

You should try a relaxer. Go to a pro and get it done. I have a friend with hair like that and it works good. Then when you go ask what you should do with your hair everday. They know what is best for your hair.

Start by asking your hairstylist; he/she can tell you products to help tame your hair and keep it healthy at the same time. A flat iron will also help. I'd say salon products are your best bet; it's one of those things "you get what you pay for".Store products for serious hair issues is not a good idea. Pantene has wax in it. If you use a tiny bit you would be alright; but in this case I wouldn't suggest it. OR you could just leave it wet, use a hair gel for curly hair to keep your style locked in and then a finishing spray (lighter than hairspray).

you need to thin it out, get it layered relly well, then either try to wear it straight, by using straigtening shampoo conditioner and gel for straight hair then maybe blow dry it straight or use a straightener, also if you just et it tlayered, it will be easier to comb without tangling and you can use gel to tame frizzes, and it wont be as frizzy eithr

I am a master cosmetologist and in my experience the people that I have seen after using this product over a period of time had dry, brittle and split hair. in my opinion I would NEVER recommend this product for human hair. but, if you insist on using it, get a good deep conditioning product and use it as directed, at lease twice a week, in order to get some moisture back into your hair.

Never shave it--it causes the hair to grow back course, kinda like the stubble a guy gets when he shaves. Aside from going to the doctor like someone mentioned ( could be a hormone thing) stick with facial removers or waxing. I know how irritating it is, but it may be in your genes. As a female, I also have unwanted facial hair growth that I take care of with hair removers. If you have the money, electrolysis is another option to permanently get rid of hair growth. Good luck!!

Yes, excess facial hair on a woman is probably the result of excess hormones, like testosterone. It may be genetic as well. Sometime facial hair runs in the family (thanks mom!).

The only way to permanently remove facial hair is electrolysis or laser hair removal. Unfortunately it is expensive and takes many sessions to remove all the hair.

You can try to lighten the hair with a bleach rather than removing it.

Definitely see a dermatologist or you family doc to see about the hormones.

You need to try a moisturizer with a thickness formula and try a root stimulator for thickness and bounce.You also need a good conditioner and shampoo.After you wash your hair apply a good conditioner, wrap your hair with a warm wet towel and sit under the dryer for 15 minutes and then rinse.Lastly, put some wrap lotion or setting lotion on your hair and get under the dryer for 15 more minutes and comb down once your hair is dried.I will not tell you to do anything that I have not tried.Just worth a try!!!

My sister has hair that use to be just like you described. She started using Pantene Pro-V for Women of Color. Her hair is so soft now and is much more manageable. Also if you have time, after you wash use a lot of conditioner and let it set for 3 or 4 minutes. Then wash it out, blow dry it and use a big round brush to brush it out as you blow dry it. Then if you have a really good straightening iron, I use a Chi $130 at JC Penney Salon, and straighten your hair. If you do this it is easier to separate your hair by pulling the top up in a bun or clip and straighten the bottom of your hair first then start to take down small parts at a time from the top and straighten it slowly. Or if you want to wear it curly and dont have much time, I use Pantene Hair Gel and I brush my hair straight first, then put about 2 quarter size amounts of gel in my hair and work it through and scrunch at the same time. Then I spray it with a little bit of Mega hold hair spray then blow dry it until it is still just slightly damp, then give it one more spray, and part or style it how I like. Well good luck.

yes, brushing hair too much daily is bad for hair. im not sure why, but the limit for brushing hair is at least 3 times a day. one in the morning, and at least once during the day... but dont brush shortly after the first brushing.

there is hair products especially for frizziness, try them out, or ask someone if theyve tried it and if it really worked, or just simply ask whats the best. Id go to a salon and just ask her, for best advice.

For frizziness at the bottom, always use a detangler. Pantene Pro-V detangler is what i use and its really good. Always detangle hair slowly, and just not all the way to the bottom, pulling your hair as you go.. NO no no!

Keep it moisterized. Only wash your hair every other day to keep its natural oils, which makes it so much healthier. Use a vitamin enhanced shampoo and conditioner like the Bed Head Selfabsorbed one. Also when you condition make sure it stays on for at least 3-5 mins. The weight of your hair should keep it a little less frizzy, but if thats still the problem use a gel and try to towel dry your hair. For different look you can part it on the side , braid it while its still wet (french braids are great for curly hair) or straighten it. Good Luck

My trick is to use a l'oreal volumising spray sometimes.

What works the absolute best for me, though, is to blow-dry my har upside down. Salt spray works wonders - there's a Bed Head spray and a Umberto Gianni spray that are miraculous. I have the SAME problem. Super thick hair that is TOTALLY annoying. These are just some things that I do:

1-I put it up in a ponytail-except my bangs-and clip by bangs up in a lump on top of my head. Its really cute and totally sexy. Guys really love it.

2-Just a braid, it takes me about 3 mins to braid my hair, and its quite long. Braids say that your very sophisticated and willing.

3-Sometimes I even just put it all up and have my bangs combed over to one side-emo look- but its totally cute.

These are just some things that I do, but they defiantly work. You should try some and hopefully one of them work for you. Good luck, and no matter what, you are beautiful, regardless how thick your hair is.

well if the thickness is stopping you, ask the hairdresser to use texturing scissors or to layer it next time and go from there....

I would suggest you get a good haircut that will thin your hair some and shape it good. Then find a salon that has a computerized style finder and that will let you know what style is good for you and then ask the hairstylist about thining your hair and using a good conditioner. A good once a week at home one is a cup of mayo and 1/4 cup olive oil, work into hair then put on a shower cap for 30 min. ( only if you don't have oily hair). It is great for shine and manageability. Try a Latino store for a pink conditioner that comes from Mexico, it is great for thick hair (some family dollar stores or dollar general has it too, sorry I don't remember the name, my friend got it for me in Mexico but you can find it here). Layered cuts that thin your hair are usually the best for thick hair. The all one length makes it look fuller. It depends on the shape of your face as to what style would look good, thats why the computerized analysis would be best. Good luck and God Bless, Elle

The hair in the picture you provided is layered, so it is many different lengths. The best thing you could do for yourself is take this picture to a good stylist near you and get the appropriate cut. The reason your hair looks "lifeless/horrible" when you try and grow it out is because it has no structure. A good cut will give you that. If it's too thick, the stylist can thin it out for you and it doesn't matter what your hair color is for this type of hair style if you have a good cut. It will blend the way it's supposed to anyway. The stylist will tell you exactly how to maintain this style and what products to use, it's part of what you're paying for. If they don't mention it, ASK! They may think you already know.

Try Pantene shampoo. Put avacado in your hair then rinse it out, or do the same with mayonnaise. I would also recommend that you stop straightening it, blow drying it, hairspraying it, etc. Just let it go natural, and it will heel naturally. If you have split ends though there is nothing you can do but cut them off.

Before getting into the shower, wet hair with cold water. Pretend you have shampoo in your hair, and massage water through hair. When finished, comb hair straight.

Massage a cup of milk through hair; this will ensure softness and silkiness which is most important for pin-straight hair! Keep the milk in for 1.5 min and rinse out with lukewarm water.

Once the milk is completely rinsed out, lightly shampoo hair. Leave shampoo in for one minute and then rise out with cold water. Then lightly condition hair. Also leave on for one minute and rinse out with lukewarm water.

After completely rinsing out both shampoo and conditioner, towel off any extra water. Wrap hair in towel, and leave the towel in there for 5 min.

Unwrap hair, and blow-dry it. make sure all of the hair is completely dry before proceeding.

Part hair into an upper section and a lower section [half ponytail]. Clip upper section very high up.

Set hair straightener to appropriate setting for your hair texture/thickness/manageability [that will be indicated on box] and wait until it has warmed up to the appropriate heat setting.

Spray bottom half lightly with hair spray and massage the hair spray in lightly in a downward motion for a couple seconds.

Thoroughly straighten bottom half, and when done add some more hairspray, and massage it in. Optional: add a little glossing spray.

Clip bottom half

LOOSELY!and un-clip top half.

Repeat steps 8 and 9 for top half.

When done, fix any curls left, or any other issues. Remember to straighten bangs! Once done with everything, add any extra hair spray/gel/mousse/gloss spray that is needed. Remember: aim for perfection!

one last thing:: always comb hair [with a COMB] after straightening any section.

this is completely normal, most babies, when first growing hair have areas that come in great from the start and areas that don't. a lot of babies also end up with a bald spot on their head from sleeping on that spot, or rolling around the floor. keep trimming the longer stuff, and eventually, it will all be even with the rest.

Leave that baby's hair alone! Not only is she growing but so is her hair. She is only 1 it will come I promise. I'm a hairstylist so i've worked with several irons. Yes, the CHI is a good iron, but it is rather expensive. The best one that I prefer over the CHI is one that is sold in Walmart. It's a Revlon brand. There are a couple different styles, but the one I choose to work with is 1" wide, it's black, and has gold plates. DO make sure it says ceramic on it though. If I remember correctly, it's about 20 bucks, so if it breaks, there's no problem replacing it (take it back and trade it out..walmart takes everything back).

I straighten alot of black hair with it, and it's awesome. Be sure spray on some gloss/shine spray on each individual section before straightening it. It acts as a protector and makes ur hair so soft and shiny. This should keep your hair straight for several days...hope that helps out!!!

October of 2006 I had a very bad experience with hair extensions. I had the heavy, glued-in kind (never again!!) and when the stylist removed them, my hair became twice as thin as before they were installed. I had kept it around shoulder length for awhile and wore clip in extensions for thickness. In late January, I had it cut above my shoulders again and it looked very thick! No more clip ins! My question is this. Ever since I got that haircut I have been taking Women's ultra omega active multivitamin from GNC, Flaxseed Oil, Ultranourish hair, and 5000 mg of Biotin daily. My hair seems to be growing very fast but I am afraid that if it grows too fast, it may start to look thin again as the hair that broke off may take longer to grow in that my hair which was more or less unaffected. Is Biotin still a good idea for me or should I leave it out?Isthere a vitamin4thickness?

Most gels can actually damage you're hair. I would begin by using a new shampoo, and conditioner. I'd suggest most products in the Herbal Essences collection. Use conditioner, and restorer for damaged hair.

I had the same problem but maybe you can consider a hair relaxer...or maybe get your hair permanently straightened. When I got it permanently straightened I didn't have to worry about any thickness or frizz. It helped my hair alot
